How This Calculation Works
The converter uses standardized international size charts to translate between US, EU, and UK sizing systems. Each system has its own numbering convention — for example, a US women's size 8 corresponds to EU 38 and UK 12.
The calculator covers tops, pants, and shoes for both women and men, with a highlighted reference table showing the nearest equivalent in each system. Note that these are general guidelines — actual fit varies between brands and even between styles from the same brand.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Inconsistent brand sizing. Assuming all brands use the same sizing within a system — vanity sizing means a "size 8" varies wildly between brands
- Skipping brand charts. Not checking the brand's specific size chart when ordering online
- EU shoes vs clothing. Forgetting that EU sizes often run differently for shoes versus clothing
- Regional proportions. Not accounting for differences in body proportions between regions — EU cuts tend to be narrower in the shoulders compared to US cuts
